Calculating horizontal stress

With the Horizontal Stress form (1D MODEL > Horizontal Stress > Effective Stress Method), you generate the horizontal stress logs (Shmin, SHmax) based on the effective stress ratios logs that you created on the Effective Stress Ratio form.

On the form, under the Select Input Logs, select the input logs for Shmin effective stress ratio and SHmax effective stress ratio from the drop-down list.

At this stage you can edit the trend line that fits the calibration points. When you have drawn a trend line that appropriately fits the calibration points, click (Re)Calculate.

The Horizontal Stress appears as two additional tracks in the view: 'Shmin, from ESR' and 'Shmax, from ESR'. The names of the calculated Shmin and Shmax curves, along with the case name, are displayed in the Shmin calculated and SHmax calculated fields.

To change the default name of the created log, double click in the log field. The background turns blue, indicating you can edit the text. When done, click the green check mark to apply the changes.
Check the lock position to make sure the inputs and changes in the trend line are incorporated for the stress curves. If the lock is green, (re)calculation is performed automatically.
